Lake Tahoe
I surely wanted to do this for so long. Going to Lake Tahoe was the first thing on my TO DO list since I moved to the bay area. And I finally did it on a nice sunny day, when you need not have a 4WD or snow chains. This was a week before the Presidents Day weekend when it wasn't snowing and it was a nice 45 degrees. We did skiing at the Sierra At Tahoe resort. Had to take the beginners lesson again, firstly because I barely remembered my lessons from skiing at the Eldora Mountain resort, and more so because it was the first time for Sumera. We went through the beginners slope for the first couple of hours, but then since that quad-lift was so overcrowded, we tried the dual-lift for the sugar-n-spice trail. And Hesus, I fell a zillion times in that trail since I could not control my speed and direction. The slope was darn steep. Anyways!! We ski'ed for a good 5-6 hours including a lunch break, and took off to see the splendid lake tahoe. We visited the south shore, and the view was magnificent. Very serene and peaceful.
This long weekend was a nice one too. Went to Dsu's (Santosh's) Saturday after playing mini-golf with them. Just chilled watching Ratatouille, and feeding ourselves cheesy pizzas. The next day we, along-with some other guys went to Half Moon Bay. It was cold at the beach, but we were kinda OK since we started playing football (american that is). We hung out for a couple of hours after which we went bowling.
I also watched a tennis exhibition match (prelude to the SAP Open) with Mohit, Gaurang and Sumit in HP Pavilion on Monday. It was Pete Sampras vs Tommy Haas. Was an average match (why did I expect so much from an exhibition match). Pete though, still has some shots in his repertoire. The experience was definitely reminiscent of the nail-biting matches we (the very same group), watched in Palm Springs, CA for the Pacific Life Open.
