Spring time

Spring is back and it feels good. Blogging aint the ideal thing to do in this joyful weather, but its long due. Has been the usual except a few things. Went to a sufi rock concert (thats what they called it). It was basically a performance from Salman Ahmad (the lead singer from the Pakistani band Junoon). In a small packed auditorium of around 150 people, he pleased us all with his guitar and vocals. Samir Chatterjee accompanied him with the tabla, and they were a lethal duo. They responded to the encore twice and all-in-all it was an entertaining evening.

I also went to the Warriors game in Oakland at the Oracle Arena. I went for the game that was supposed to be crucial for them. If the warriors were to win this game (and the Clippers were to lose theirs against Suns) they would have made it to the playoffs that very day. Playoffs after 13 years. Adam (my colleague) a big warriors fan was really excited and is a hard core Warriors fan. Me, Mohit, Eric and Vineet were indifferent. We just wanted to watch a nice game. We tailgated near the bart bridge and were off to the arena after having a FEW beers. The experience was good. The game was a one sided affair with warriors leading over the mavs by about 15 points all the way till the end. We had upper deck seats, but after the first half we found ourselves a way into the second row of seats right next to the court. I saw Nowitzki, Dampier, Terry and Harris within a foots distance when they were leaving the courts.

Yesterday me, Sumera and Ricky took off to the city to enjoy the pleasant weather here. We planned on doing the 49 mile scenic drive of the city where it takes you through 49 points of interest in the city. We started from City Hall, and tried following the indicators to this whole 49 mile route. I couldn't see any such indicators on Van Ness (the street where City Hall is located). The next thing we reach is Fishermans Wharf, which was at the end of this route. It was ridiculous. Finally we saw the indicators from there, but by now had no intentions of continuing. We chilled at the pier, stuffed ourselves at Naan N' Curry and left. We (us and dsu, santosh, kris and suneel) then planned on having a BBQ at my place. Did bbq for 30 minutes when we were kicked out of there (it was 10:45 pm). Played poker at my place and that was it.
