A new beginning follows the end

It was inevitable. I still remember the first day when I went to Glu for the interview. Dressed in a suit contrary to the interviewers who wore hooded sweat shirts and jeans. Oh well! That was then. 51/2 years later, I am ready to end this long, fruitful and fun-filled journey.
January 10 2005 - May 17th 2010. I could not have asked for anything more out of Glu. Couldn't have grown faster career-wise, couldn't have had more fun and couldn't have had better colleagues and friends. Good things are coming to an end, and I am hoping for better things. I am joining Blackboard, a much bigger company. Working in the city is going to be a whole new experience. Really looking to this new undertaking.

Balance

They say it is good to have a balance in everything you do. Makes you well-rounded. That was not the case with me when I started reading books (which wasn't very long ago). I was an avid reader of non-fiction books. But 'Namesake' changed that.
I did attempt reading 'God of Small Things' before but it was a lil out of my league. Namesake was more for me. I could associate with it so much being an immigrant parent and being a Bengali. The name change was just a snapshot of the challenges faced by the children of immigrant parents and juggling between the two cultures. A nice light bedtime read.
