Akbar Sami is the MAN
Had a company picnic today at Angel Island. It is a very nice place. The only bad thing was that the section that was reserved for us was shady with a lot of cold breeze. But we had fun playing volleyball. It is a good place to do your bbq and relax in the sun.
Went to Illusions yesterday for a desi party. DJ Akbar Sami was there and hell yea!!! It was fun funk funky. Other DJs were good too, but when he came in and started with the new 'Bachna e Haseeno' track, the dance floor went KRAZZZZZY. It was nearly 4-6 months since we danced to Desi tunes. I also loved the last 10 mins when they started that typical Ganpati music. Reminiscent of my roadside dances!!!!!
Read 'Gandhi and India' by Gianni Sofri. A small and decent book about India's struggle for independence and Gandhi's views and actions in the struggle. There are some serious mistakes in this book though, especially when it mentions India's independence day to be 14th Aug and Gandhi's assassination in the year 1939.
I did not know much about my physical limitations until after some runs on the treadmill when I suffered from shin splits and a little stress on the knees. Finally my colleague told me that it might be because of my low quality reebok DMX. I did some research online and went to the mall this weekend. Asked every shoe store what the best running shoes were. I even asked some customers (one guy was a marathon runner) who were looking for running shoes. And guess what!! It was unanimous. Every one recommended asics and EVERYONE strictly said NO to Nike. Nikes' they said are overrated, ineffective and sell because of the brand. Good I did some research or else I would have bought Nike Shox. I bought the Asics 1130 recommended by that marathon runner. I ran today with those on and it felt AWESOME!!!
