From single to married

So the inevitable finally happened, and I am glad it did. Getting married to Sumera is a whole new chapter. So what changed? No junk food for sure. The 11 - 8 job is now 9-5. Downside. You have to get up early. Upside - Never felt better getting up this early in the morning.
The marriage ceremonies/functions were a smooth sailing except the reception in Bombay. The actual court marriage was the awkward part. You have to stand in line for you own wedding. Fill up some forms and then they call your name after an hour or two. We were fortunate enough to be called out within an hr. So we go into a cabin and this lady looks at us, gives us some forms to sign. then gives us a small piece of paper which has something written on it. I had to read it out loud. It said 'I Ankur Pal, take thee Sumera Patan as my lawfully wedded wife.' Nice styleeee. And it ends. Short and sweet. The reception that day was in Hotel Sea Princess, a hotel in Juhu. We spent the most on this reception only to see rains pouring down heavily that evening. Thank god the reception was in their indoor banquet hall, but not many could make it. What a waste of food and money it was.
Have to say that the trip to India was busy. Landed in Bombay, flew to Hyderabad after 5 days, back to Bombay within 2 days, then back to Hyderabad within 4 days, and then back to Bombay for 3 days. Marriage functions were the agenda for the first two trips, and the last two were meant to spend time with the families. But hey! Lunch/dinner invitations, people visiting, shopping for yourself and others, hardly gives you any time to spend with your family. Overall had a good time, more so because I did not have to deal with my jinxed PASSPORT.

Howard screws it up

Last night's game was a bummer for Mavs. They had a significant lead for the 1st two quarters. Heats came back. Wade started getting his jump shots. The game stretched to OT. Picture this. Just 9 seconds left in the game. Mavs lead by 1.Heats call time out. Ball goes to Wade. He runs all the way to the red line from their half of the court and manages to get a defensive foul on Nowitzki. 2 seconds on the clock when all this happened. Wade gets in the first free throw. And jeez...Only Josh Howard knows what occured to him that he called the last time out Mavs had. Poor coach Johnson was so infuriated. After all the confusion between the coach and referees for waiving the time out, the referee decides tat Mavs are out of time outs. So its upto Wade now. That guy shoots and the ball goes in the basket. 2 seconds is too less for anyone to make it to the other end, even Harris, the fastest guy in Mavs.
Too bad a seasoned guy like Howard did this blunder. Heats are now 3-2. Two games in Dallas could make it difficult, but hey. With Wade in this form. Who knows?
