Passive weekends

Starting to love these nothing-doing weekends. Just a lil bit of cricket saturday morning, XBox, and a handful of movies. Bot tickets for the Eagles concert on Nov 18th in Sacramento.
Got introduced to some John Denver songs through our local television network. I am a big fan of his now. Annies Song is the most romantic song I ve ever heard. I usually dont care about the lyrics, but this song has a lot of meanin to it. Surely worth dedicating to your sweetheart.

It was long due.

I finally managed to perform at par with my capabiities in batting. 'Man of the Match' in the game today. Scored 25+ (1 four). Was delighted as it was long awaited. Had a really strenuous weekend. Went to this urban hike on Saturday with the Stanford hiking group. It started from Fort Mason in SFO. From there it was a walk along the bay. Beautiful homes and a lot of urban crowd. One side you could feel the city hustle-bustle. Other side was the calm bay. And in front of us was a very scenic view of the Golden Gate bridge. We walked for around a mile and half, after which we reached the GG bridge. Walked through the whole bridge to reach Vista point where we took a lunch break. The lunch break was for those who got theirs unlike me and Kuldeep. So we starved. We then started a nice trail from the hills opposite Visa point. It was really awesome. Nice weather. Got a whole view of the city, bridge, and angel island from top. The other side was a glimpse of the pacific ocean and vast acres of green land. We hiked through for around 4 miles after which we reached the end of the trail. But that was not it. We then had to walk the roads to reach Sausolito downtown. So we walked past these alluring and cosy houses by the mountains. I really would love to have one of that kind. Anyways. The hike finally came to an end after 8 miles. We then took the ferry from Sausolito to Frisco.
Got this Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2k5 for my XBox. It is a really cool game. Better than the NBA and Major League Baseball, since I am so bored playing those. The game is pretty tough too. Tried desperately to get some Cricket for my XBox, but unfortunately its UNAVAILABLE.

17-mile drive and DANDIYA

Had a busy weekend. Went to this 17-mile drive that a lot of people talk about and is a major tourist attraction. I think I expected too much out of it. If you have been to Bigsur and covered the 2-3 hour stretch of PCH from there, this wouldnt thrill you. The trees though, were unusual and looked like creepers having a long trunk. There is a mammoth golf course throughout the drive, with some holes right next to the ocean. Playing golf would have been a nice experience. Spent around 3-4 hours. Came back and had to get ready for DANDIYA. We were just about to leave when we discovered that all the tickets were sold out. I was so pissed, but still wanted to give it a shot. So we went there and put our names in the waiting list. After a lot of confusion and hoopla, we got the tickets. This thing was fun. A packed desi crowd, good company and good songs. The bare foot got me blisters. :(

American Express Golf Championship

Work was fun today. I reached at around 9:30. Me and Vikas (my colleague) had to address some questions from the UK guys through a yahoo chat conference. It went on for a hour and half and boom. We left for the Harding Park Golf Course in Daly City near San Francisco. Practise rounds today and tomorrow and the real tournament starts from the 6th. The practise round tickets itself were 75 healthy bucks(we got it for free ofcourse). Saw a number of players but could recognize only two. Michael Campbell - the guy who won the US Open this year. And our very own Indian dude from Fiji, Vijay Singh. We heard that Tiger Woods had already finished practising. DAMNNN! Anyways. Hung around for a couple of hours and then came back to work.
The whole company is going for 'In Her Shoes' this friday. Well we are going just because we would get some time to hang out and ofcourse the free coupon worth 10 bucks..haha...pretty cheap...isnt it?

Microsoft Party

Friday night party. Location - Club Forum, Sunnyvale downtown. Host - Microsoft TV team. What was I doing there? Dancing and feeling the aura. The party started at around six, but I reached in there at 7 (courtesy Sowmya - my undergrad friend working in Microsoft). Drinks were on the house. So grabbed some vodka. Got introduced to some of her friends. There were a big stage upfront with the girls doing some dance show. After a while the music dragged me to the dance floor. I gave company to quite a few :). Had a lot of booze and fun as well.
Come next morning and I am all into this H1 stuff. Filling up forms. I needed two photographs of mine and went to a Vietnamese store. He took a ghetto photo of mine and charged me 19 bucks for four copies. Anyways. Got the whole work done...:)
